About this fundraiser

Racquets for Recovery is an annual tennis tournament hosted by the Pine Forest Ladies Tennis Association that raises money for MUSC Hollings Cancer Center's comprehensive breast care program. The event is a three-day USTA sanctioned Level 2 tournament located at the Pine Forest Country Club in Summerville, SC. The past fourteen years of this tennis charity event has raised more than $300,000, which has been donated to ease the burden of local breast cancer patients.

Who you help

Your support benefits local breast cancer patients and programs in the following ways:

• Breast cancer patient assistance program: This program supports patients by providing them with help in their day-to-day lives, helping to ease their external burdens, including: transportation funds in the form of gas cards, and partnerships with local taxi companies to provide rides to medical appointments for patients who have limited means of transportation; mastectomy bras and lymphedema sleeves, which are essential tools for breast cancer patients' short and long term recovery; wigs for those who choose to cover their head due to hair loss as a side effect of powerful chemotherapy drugs.

• Survivor Fit Club: A 10-week exercise and nutrition program specifically funded by Racquets for Recovery. Studies show physically active cancer survivors have a lower risk of cancer recurrence.
